Proper use of CSS improves your Search Engine Optimization
Many people believe that you have to compromise design for SEO or SEO for design. Is it possible to look good to users and bots? Absolutely! When combining some basic CSS techniques with sound SEO strategies, you can build a powerful Web site that delivers your message to your customers and search engine bots alike. Don't make the bots search through piles of cluttered HTML to find out if you're relevant.
This book doesn't teach you how to spoof search engines. It teaches you how to optimize your site with proven search engine optimization strategies and make it pretty in the process. The CSS techniques in this ebook, combined with solid SEO have been used to move a client's sites from page three to position three on page one in Yahoo search results after a single crawl. The same site moved from non-existant in Google results to page three after one crawl and it is moving steadily up. This Web site was not optimized for some obscure keyword, but for the most competitive keyword phrase in a very competitive market.
